On MIT's GenAI divide report. Take 1

In mid July 2025, MIT published a report on AI and their adoption among businesses. Media picked it up end of August and there has been no shortage of takes, opinions and posts regarding it. I have, too, no shortage of takes on that report. In this post, I ’ll focus on one of these.

There’s 8 industries identified in the report. I won’t re-iterate them here as I see no point, go read the report. Of those 8 industries, only 2 (Tech and Media) show clear signs of structural disruption. And Media substantially more than Tech.
